McCulloch MRT6, Semi Professional 2 Wheel Rear Tine Cultivator / Tiller, Briggs & Stratton Engine - Forward and Reverse Gears. For sale is a McCulloch MRT6 heavy duty tiller / cultivator. Designed to tackle even the most demanding gardening tasks on extra-large allotments or kitchen gardens (1 to 3 acres).

In very good used condition. Bought new in April 2011 and has had very little use over the years.

It was only used twice a year; in early Spring and in late Autumn and was always cleaned after each use and kept in a large dry garage. Regularly serviced by a local dealer, it has never put a foot wrong or ever needed a repair. Not been used since the last service 18 months ago but still started first time for the video demo. It always made light work of tough jobs and provided effortless garden maintenance. Also comes with the original McCulloch instruction manual and the Briggs and Stratton engine manual. With the MRT6 the difference was immediate. It's big and heavy and has ploughed through everything with no fuss at all, leaving a great fine tilth. It made a huge difference to preparing the soil - and even tore up a section of lawn I wanted to change into another vegetable bed. The MRT6 is the perfect tool for those seeking maximum performance and efficiency when working on extra-large plots. It develops the sort of power and torque that are essential when taking-on more challenging soil conditions.

Powering the large deep-tread tyres and heavy-duty cultivating rotors is the Briggs & Stratton 800 series four-stroke engine. Rated at an impressive 4.1KW, these advanced OHV engines have an enviable reputation. So it has not been used for nearly 2 years now and it is time for someone else to make use of it. I shall miss the sheer power of the 205cc OHV 4 stroke engine, From everything I have read, the Briggs and Stratton and the Honda are both at the'top end' of gardening engines. If you wonder why you don't see these advertised nowadays, it is because Husqvarna bought the McCulloch Cultivator Division some years ago.

However, if you look at one of the largest Husqvarna Cultivators, you will see it is almost identical to the MRT6 (minus the Briggs & Stratton engine). Specifications - McCulloch MRT6 Cultivator. Briggs & Stratton 800 series engine - 205cc. 4 stroke single cylinder OHV.

Max power of 4.1KW at 3600 r. Ensuring dependable and consistent performance.

Automatic safety cut-out (dead man's handle). Engine oil capacity 1.25 pints.

Engine unleaded petrol capacity - 5 pints. Complete with two large front-drive wheels and rear rotor blades. 6 high quality profiled blades per side (total 12). Blade rotation in the opposite direction.

Max Width of Work: 43cm. Max Depth of work - 15cm in cultivated soil. Depth stake with 7 tilling depths. Wide agricultural type wheels and tyres: Diam 40cm (16ins). Transmission bridge with sprockets and chain. 1 Forward + 1 Reverse gear + 1 Forward with rotating tines + Neutral. Adjustable throttle from tortoise (slow) to hare (faster).

Recommended tilling area for this machine: 1 to 3 acres. Length 43ins not including handle. Height to top of engine - 27ins.
