This machine was donated to my allotments association. It was originally owned by the father of one of our plot-holders.
It hasn't been used for at least 10 years, and probably a lot longer. After turning the engine over without the spark plug, so that oil would be circulated, I started and allowed the engine to run for a few seconds as shown in the video before stopping the engine by moving the the handlebar throttle lever to'stop'.
Despite the long period of non-use, the engine started on something like the 3rd pull. I didn't want to run the machine for longer without checking the oil. Turning the engine over without the spark plug, I did establish that operating the handlebar levers turned the rotavator blades forward or backwards. The belt cover has a crack (see photos), but before handing the machine over I will repair using glass fibre behind the crack, which should be a permanent fix.
